1. Your Content and Rights
When you create, upload, post, or display content on Ravenboard ("User Content"), you retain all ownership rights to your content. However, by using our Services, you grant Ravenboard certain rights to use your content as described in this Policy.
2. License to Ravenboard
2.1 Scope of License
By submitting User Content to Ravenboard, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable, and transferable license to:
- Use, reproduce, and store your User Content to provide the Services
- Display your User Content on your registered Ravenboard devices
- Transmit your User Content through our infrastructure and networks
- Make your User Content available to other users if you choose to share it publicly
- Modify and adapt your User Content for technical purposes (e.g., formatting for different board models)
2.2 Public Content
If you choose to make your content public (such as publishing posts to the Nest app store or community features):
- Your content becomes visible to all Ravenboard users
- Other users may copy, like, and use your content on their boards
- Ravenboard may feature your content in marketing materials, websites, social media, and other promotional channels
- You understand that once shared publicly, content may be copied or redistributed by others
2.3 Private Content
Content you mark as private or use only on your personal board:
- Will not be shared with other users without your permission
- Will not be used for marketing purposes without your explicit consent
- May still be processed to provide Services (e.g., stored in our cloud infrastructure)
3. Marketing and Promotional Use
3.1 Consent for Marketing
We may request your permission to use your publicly shared content for:
- Social media posts and advertising
- Website galleries and showcase features
- Email marketing and newsletters
- Press releases and media communications
- Trade shows and promotional events
3.2 Attribution
When we use your content for marketing purposes:
- We will credit you when practical (e.g., by username or real name if provided)
- You may request to be credited by a specific name or handle
- Attribution may not always be feasible in certain contexts (e.g., short-form social media)
3.3 Withdrawing Consent

4. Your Representations and Warranties
By submitting User Content, you represent and warrant that:
4.1 Age Requirement
You are at least 13 years old. If you are under 18, you have obtained your parent's or guardian's permission to use the Services and submit content.
4.2 Ownership and Rights
- You own all rights to your User Content, or have obtained all necessary permissions to submit it
- Your content does not infringe any third-party intellectual property rights, including copyrights, trademarks, or patents
- You have obtained necessary permissions from anyone whose name, image, likeness, or voice appears in your content
4.3 Licensing Authority
You have the authority to grant the licenses described in this Policy, and doing so does not violate any agreements you have with third parties.
4.4 Compliance with Laws
Your User Content complies with all applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to:
- Copyright and intellectual property laws
- Privacy and data protection laws
- Defamation laws
- Export control regulations
5. Prohibited Content
You may not submit User Content that:
- Infringes intellectual property: Copyrighted material, trademarks, or other proprietary content without permission
- Is illegal or promotes illegal activity: Content that violates laws or regulations
- Is harmful or offensive: Hate speech, harassment, threats, violence, or discrimination
- Violates privacy: Personal information of others shared without consent
- Is sexually explicit: Pornographic or sexually suggestive content (except for private, personal use)
- Contains malware: Viruses, malicious code, or harmful software
- Is misleading: False, deceptive, or fraudulent content
- Is spam: Unsolicited advertising, promotions, or bulk messages
- Impersonates others: Content that falsely represents someone else
6. Content Moderation
6.1 Our Rights
Ravenboard reserves the right, but has no obligation, to:
- Monitor, review, or screen User Content
- Remove or refuse to display any User Content for any reason
- Suspend or terminate accounts that violate this Policy
- Cooperate with law enforcement regarding illegal content
6.2 No Obligation
We are not obligated to:
- Pre-screen content before it is posted
- Monitor all user-generated content
- Remove content unless it violates our policies or the law
6.3 Reporting Violations

7. Copyright Infringement (DMCA)
7.1 Notification Process
If you believe your copyrighted work has been infringed, please send a DMCA notice to:

7.2 Required Information
Your notice must include:
- Physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or authorized agent

- Statement that you have a good faith belief that the use is not authorized
- Statement that the information is accurate and you are authorized to act on behalf of the owner
7.3 Counter-Notification
If your content was removed due to a DMCA notice and you believe it was removed in error, you may submit a counter-notification with the required information under the DMCA.
7.4 Repeat Infringers
We will terminate accounts of users who repeatedly infringe copyrights in accordance with the DMCA and applicable laws.
8. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Ravenboard, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from:
- Your User Content
- Your violation of this Content Use Policy
- Your violation of any third-party rights, including intellectual property rights
- Any claim that your User Content caused damage to a third party
9. Termination and Survival
9.1 Account Deletion
When you delete your account:
- Your private content will be deleted from our active systems within 30 days
- Public content you shared may remain visible if copied by other users
- Backups may be retained for legal and security purposes
- Content used in existing marketing materials may continue to appear
9.2 Surviving Rights
The license you grant for publicly shared content may survive account deletion if:
- Other users have copied or saved your content
- Your content has been featured in marketing materials
- Your content is part of archived or historical records
10. Changes to This Policy
We may modify this Content Use Policy at any time. Changes will be effective when posted with an updated "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of the Services after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
